English/Spanish classes start March 24, 6:30 p.m.

The Language for Living program had its kick-off/open house March 4, and the response was extremely positive. Many patrons have been taking advantage of the self-study hours available while awaiting class to begin. Self-study is available during the hours the library is open, M-F, 8:30-12:00 and 1:00-5:30 p.m. Self-study students will learn by using library computers and the software Rosetta Stone. (Software only available for in-house use.) Languages offered are English, Spanish, Italian, German, French and Chinese. Italian, German, French and Chinese are self-study only.

The English/Spanish class is six weeks in length, and meets Fridays at 5:30 p.m., Sundays at 4:00 p.m., and Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The first class meeting is on Friday, March 24. All students need is a writing instrument and a notebook to take notes. There will be two teachers available. Other details, such as class materials, can be obtained on-line, at the Rosetta Stone website, and will be covered at the first class meeting. The class will contain both English and Spanish students.
