November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

The crunch is upon the NaNoWriMo community again!  Each November around the world it is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short.

What is NaNoWriMo?  It is the month when writers, new and old, amateur or veteran, write for thirty days straight to the goal of November 30, when most—but not all—writers will reach 10,000 words or more.  You hope that what you have after 10,000 plus words resembles a novel.

The rules are fairly simple, if you have an idea, that is.  Once you have written 1,600 words per day, every day in November,  at the end of the month there is a winner, and it could be you.

You’ll have lots of help from the website tools, and can even meet up with writers in your area for support.  Sign up today at nanowrimo.org and join the writing frenzy!

  1. I have written a measly 1,800 words so far. I hope those of you who are participating in NaNoWriMo are doing better than I!
