The Happy Davis foundation made it possible for us to begin teaching English and Spanish. By providing new computers and Rosetta Stone software, Happy Davis allowed us the tools and the means. By local support, business and private, we were able to pay our teachers. We have been encouraging newcomers to jump in at any point in the six-week session. The classes have been a success and the community has enjoyed being able to speak English and Spanish to people they have never been able to speak to before.
Registration is not required, just sign the class roster when you arrive, and be sure to bring a notebook and a pen or pencil. Hope to see you there!
The Florence Public Library wish to announce our Spring Lecture Series every Thursday evening starting in February and running into March from 7:00 to 9:00.
Various topic’s may include local history events, community speakers, teachers or professors, Gardening, Cooking, Authors, attractions from the area, and various music groups.
Hope to see you all there! You never know who will talk your ears off!
The Summer Reading Program is every Wednesday afternoon from 1 till 3 in June, and is made possible by the Texas State Library Archives Commission. We also have a Teen Summer Reading Program in June.
